User Experience

Work Summary:

Epilogue was a multi-month UX research project made in conjunction with Wake Forest Baptist Hospital for which I served as Project Manager. This project covered UX focused research, ideation, design, prototyping, and presentation. Ultimately this project would lead to Professor Apostolellis signing me on as one of his lead UX teaching assistants at UVA.

Project System Concept Statement:

Epileptic patients have not received the constant in-person treatment that is required to diagnose and treat their seizures as hospitals are at maximum capacity during the pandemic. The Epilogue epilepsy tracker will alleviate these issues on the part of the hospital as well as the patient by externalizing the care for patients. This software will function like a system of treatment for patients, using motion and audio tracking armbands for undiagnosed patients to further epileptic treatment. Patients will enter a log alongside their data that will provide insights into their circumstances such as any possible triggers to each episode, which will be relayed remotely to their resident physicians. This will make observation and treatment less disruptive and more accessible to patients, as well as providing data about epilepsy in a more useful real-world context instead of a laboratory setting.
